Many of you will have seen the article on the BBC news site about Rachel Barrie.  She is one of the few women ever to hold the title of Scotch whisky master blender and as arguably the most prominent lady in her field has been dubbed the First Lady of Scotch Whisky.   (

Over her 26 year career she has been involved in tasting and sniffing hundreds of thousands of different whiskies and has been influential in ensuring that the consistency and taste of the whiskies her distilleries release each year.   Many of you will have supped on whiskies that Rachel has been involved in as she has developed many well-known brands over the years including Ardmore, Auchentoshan, Bowmore and Laphroaig and is currently the master blender for BenRiach, Glendronach and Glenglassaugh.

To celebrate Rachel’s amazing work in the industry we will be featuring whiskies from BenRiach in June, when you will be able to taste a number of their releases. We look forward to seeing you then.
