Montdomaine Le Breton Red Wine Case of 6

EXCLUSIVE FRENCH WINE FROM THE LOIRE

We have a wonderful range of lovely still and sparkling wines from a superb vineyard in the Loire valley just outside Amboise.? Owner Louisa Plou grew up just down the road and her parents are still living locally, so whilst the vineyard is not local there is still the local connection we like to support.

Louisa’s husband, oenologist and Vintner Fred Plou has been making wine for years and his family history in wine making goes back centuries. The wine is a real testimony to that heritage and Fred’s amazing knowledge and skills in wine making.

Named after the nickname for the grape, this is a wonderful red wine made with the Cabernet Franc (Breton) grape that will not fail to delight.

Cabernet Franc is one of the major black grape varieties worldwide. It is principally grown for blending with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the Bordeaux style, but can also be vinified alone. In addition to being used in blends and produced as a varietal in Canada and the United States, it is sometimes made into ice wine in those regions.

Cabernet Franc is lighter than Cabernet Sauvignon, making a bright pale red wine that contributes finesse and lends a peppery perfume to blends with more robust grapes.
