Swedish single malt whisky
Swedish barley and peat, seasoned with juniper, that is the recipe for a smoky flavour with Swedish character. In this second and limited edition of Svensk Rok, this is aged exclusively in casks of new American oak. This gives the whisky prominent notes of vanilla and herbs – A welcome contrast to the bold notes of peat, juniper and tar.
Nose: Smoke, spiciness, oak, fruits and herbs. Notes of peat, juniper, toasted oak and vanilla followed by a smoky and spicy aroma with saltiness, minerals, tobacco leaves, light tariness. Arrak treats, pear fudge, ginger and vanilla.
Palate: Peat, juniper, salt, definitively more smoky than what the nose is implying. A pleasant oaky spiciness with vanilla, toasted oak, pickled figs and pear fudge. The texture is medium-thick with oaky chewy notes.
Finish: Spicy, smoky and oaky with notes of tar, tobacco leaves, bright notes of pickled figs and pear fudge.
